After a brief experience, with only 18 years, in the group Inditex (Zara), Jorge Vázquez from Betanzos (A Coruña) began his design studies in Madrid and later completed them in the USA.
At age 23, he won the first prize of the "IV Show of New Fashion Creators" awarded by the Xunta de Galicia. Between 1995 and 1998 he collaborated in the design department of the Galician firm ANTONIO PERNAS. After settling in Madrid he begins to be part of the creative team of the firm ÁNGEL SCHLESSER.
In the group FECÓN he worked as the coordinator of the department of design in charge of its collections. Later, he goes on to the world of accessories with the company FUN & BASICS as a designer, which combines with the launch of his first collection of female pret-â-porter.
In February 2002 Jorge Vázquez presented his first collection under his own name "JORGE VÁZQUEZ" at the then Pasarela Cibeles (now MBFWM). In his 6th parade, in which he presented the collection Jorge Vázquez Spring-Summer 2005, for women and men, he was awarded the L'Oreal award for the best collection and young designer. In parallel, and since 2004, Jorge Vázquez simultaneously presented his collections in Pasarela Cibeles with a collaboration with the INDUYCO group, being the creative designer responsible for event and party collections of the brand SÍNTESIS.
In 2006, he collaborated with the international firm LOEWE to design the women's pret-â-porter collection. On February 16th 2006 Jorge Vázquez presented his proposal for Autumn-Winter 2006/2007, in his 9th collection presented at Pasarela Cibeles under a new brand (JV by JORGE VÁZQUEZ). Jorge, with this parade in Cibeles, begins a new business stage to consolidate his fashion project by expanding it with a Haute Couture line (brides, cocktail parties, bridesmaids and party) which has been consolidated over the years and has endowed the signature of fame and reference within the fashion sector.
In 2009 he launches his first collection of the JV Petit Couture line of communion dresses for girls offering exclusive communion suits made at his own Haute Couture atelier in Madrid. In 2014 he joined the team of another major Spanish textile company, El Corte Inglés, as co-ordinator and supervisor of the group's female firms.
In September 2015, the new Fall- Winter 2015/16 collection designed by Jorge Vázquez, for Síntesis, is put on sale at the most important El Corte Inglés stores. With great acceptance, the collaboration continues in a second Spring- Summer 2016 collection.
In 2016, Jorge Vázquez returns to the MBFWM Pasarela after 10 years, presenting his collection JV by Jorge Vázquez Fall- Winter 2016/17, which was awarded the L'Oreal award for the best collection. He is currently continuing his project under the JV brand by Jorge Vázquez and the Haute Couture line, complemented by regular collaborations with other companies in the sector.http://www.jorgevazquez.com
